Stiles: The Premier needs to come clean, did he lie about ordering new equipment and compromise Ontario's wildfire response?

WINDSOR – Leader of the Official Opposition Marit Stiles is calling for accountability and transparency in response to a Toronto Star’s report about internal government documents showing that no money had been put aside to purchase new waterbombers, despite the Premier’s claims:

“People's lives are on the line and the Premier’s numbers are not adding up.

"While the Premier makes empty promises about buying new planes, existing planes are sitting on the ground because we do not have enough frontline workers to fly them.

“The North is on fire and the Premier continues to disrespect wildland firefighters, pilots, engineers, and other frontline workers. Rather than giving them the proper resources they need to protect lives, he cut millions from wildland firefighting in the last budget and is now refusing to come clean about whether the government actually purchased necessary equipment.
