NDP: It’s time for Doug Ford to fire the Minister of Favours

QUEEN’S PARK — In a recent Abacus Data poll commissioned by CUPE Ontario, 52% of respondents — including 43% of past Conservative voters — said that Doug Ford’s Labour Minister, David Piccini, should resign or be fired for the government’s misuse of the Skills Development Fund.

Official Opposition Leader Marit Stiles says that the Labour Minister has lost the trust of Ontarians.

“It’s time for Doug Ford to fire the Minister of Favours.

“The problem is not with the fund, it is with the politicians.

“3,000 Stellantis workers in Brampton are watching their jobs drive down to Illinois. The families of 1,200 GM workers in Ingersoll are losing their stable income. Do they need to hold a wedding in Paris for this government to start caring about them?

“Ontario in the middle of a jobs disaster. Hundreds of thousands of workers are without a paycheck, yet taxpayer dollars meant to help people find jobs keep ending up in the pockets of Conservative insiders.

“It's time for the Premier to finally take some responsibility and fire the Minister.”
